Australia is renowned for being a nation of savvy travellers, yet research from Expedia’s Out There study reveals an astounding 81 per cent of Aussies may be missing out on possible triple-digit savings when booking their travel.

While just over half of Aussie travellers (53%) save for their entire holiday in advance, the remainder rely on credit to pay for a portion of their holiday. In fact, one in ten pay for their entire holiday on credit, so finding ways to help holiday funds stretch further is becoming a hot topic for holiday makers. Read more

Expedia’s new Out There report reveals more than half (55%) of Australians behave more extrovertly when travelling, with one in five (22%) saying they feel stress-free on holiday and are really able to let their hair down. As the first extended public holiday of the year approaches, more than one in ten (14%) Australians are maximising the Easter and Anzac Day double-holiday-hit to take an extra-long break, according Expedia research released today. 

Those aged 25-34 years are the savviest, with 14% booking three days’ annual leave to get a 10-day break and a further 7% booking seven days’ leave to get a whole two weeks off. Read more
