Customers come first with Expedia’s Price Match and flexible payment option

The world’s largest online travel company, Expedia, is ensuring Aussies get the lowest online prices for hotels, flights and packages, and helping them budget for their holidays by being the only online travel agent to offer a price match across multiple platforms and the Expedia Traveler Preference (ETP) flexible payment programme.

The Price Match program enables customers to book all their travel – whether it be a relaxing holiday or speedy business trip – online, safe in the knowledge that they’ll get the very best deals available online.

If customers find the same hotel, flight or holiday package deal online at a lower publicly available price, Expedia will either match the price or refund the difference as long as it is within 24 hours of booking.

Justin Lee, Expedia Customer Experience Director, says these programmes further illustrate Expedia’s ongoing commitment to value and its customers.

“Scouring online for the best travel deals can be both daunting and time consuming. We’re so confident that Expedia has the best range and value for hotels, flights and holiday packages that we’re putting our money where our mouth is with our Price Match. It’s all about getting Aussies out there!”

Expedia’s Traveler Preference flexible payment options allow customers the choice to book and pay for their hotel online or at their destination.

“Another way we’re helping travelers get the best value is Expedia’s Traveler Preference flexible payment programme. Having the option to pay now or pay later means travelers don’t have to stretch their travel budget, leaving them with more cash to enjoy their holiday,” said Justin.

The ETP programme is also proving popular with local hotels, with more than 600 properties registered across Australia and New Zealand, including Accor and Rydges. The programme is expected to grow to 1,000 properties by the end of the year.

Expedia data showed that when hotels transitioned to Expedia Traveler Preference, they demonstrated an increase in their year-on-year net room night growth rates of more than five per cent where payment choice was enabled.

To make claiming the Price Match as straightforward as possible, Expedia has put together a simple checklist:

  • Are travel dates the same?
  • For a hotel booking – is the hotel, room type and rate plan and cancellation policy the same?
  • For a flight booking – is the airline, class, fare basis and cancellation policy the same?
  • Is the quote in AUD?

To claim an Expedia Price Match refund, customers must contact Expedia’s Customer Service Team who will verify the claim, process the refund and award the $50 voucher.
