Expedia Australia and New Zealand appoints creative agency

Expedia Australia and New Zealand has today announced the appointment of its new creative agency, awarding the business to Sydney-based DDB.
Following a creative pitch, which took place over a two-month period, DDB was chosen from a shortlist of agencies, including incumbent BMF, to handle Expedia’s creative account in both Australia and New Zealand.
Marketing Director, Louise Crompton commented, “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to appoint DDB as our creative agency partner in Australia and New Zealand. Read more

Following the acquisition of online travel company, Zuji, by Australian operator, Webjet, Georg Ruebensal, Managing Director of Expedia Australia and New Zealand, has announced that Expedia will finish the year in a strong position, tracking to their plan accordingly. Expedia launches search for social media stars
Expedia, the world’s largest online travel company, has launched a search for the best budding bloggers in Australia and New Zealand, using a new Facebook app created by social media agency, We Are Social.
The search, which is now open will see bloggers from five genres (Lifestyle, Food, Music, Travel or Family/Parenting) encouraged to set up profiles on the new Expedia Blogger Search Facebook app.
Entrants are invited to set up profiles via the Facebook app and campaign for the most votes in their own category. The top five bloggers in each category will be chosen by a panel of expert judges, who will reward each winner with a trip of a lifetime and the chance to be an official Expedia blogger for 2013.
